On September 6-7, 2021, CENN, within the frames of a new initiative – Promotional Campaign for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Technologies in Rural Areas conducted a 2-day training course on energy-efficient technologies for Keda Khulo, Akhalkalaki, Borjomi, Kazbegi, Tetritskaro, Lagodekhi, and Dedoplistskaro interested population.
The main purpose of the training was to provide a comprehensive and detailed information to the local population on energy efficiency and renewable technologies. The participants of the meetings got acquainted with the following technologies:
- Industrial Solarwater heater
- Simple Solar Water Heater
- Simple Solar Air Heater
- Thermal insulation
The expert introduced the participants in detail to both the economic and environmental benefits of these technologies. In addition, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with such important issues as energy reality in Georgia; Energy balance for the thermal engineering of the building; Methodologies for calculating common energy characteristics; Thermal insulation and protection from moisture; Categorization of buildings, and climatic zones; Hybrid technologies; Automated hot water supply systems in new and existing buildings and more.
The meeting was held in an interactive format and was attended by stakeholders, representatives of the local population, the City Hall, and the business sector.
The project aims to introduce large-scale, rural energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies, which will mainly benefit the introduction of innovative technologies in 8 target municipalities and the regions of Georgia in general.
The project is being implemented with the assistance of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) within the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD).
