In celebration of Human Rights Day, CENN with EU support organized a training on Civic Engagement and its importance in the Process of Community Development at Kulari Public School, Marneuli Municipality.
The training was led by Elnur Alisoy, the winner of the Dutch Embassy Tulip Award (an annual award for outstanding and courageous human rights activists). The participants discussed the following topics:
🔵 The role of civic engagement for democracy and protection of human rights;
🔵 Legal instruments of civic engagement;
🔵 What are the existing mechanisms for civic engagement in Georgia / Kvemo Kartli? (practical examples);
🔵 Civic engagement in dominant groups and ethnic minorities – challenges and barriers.
The training was organised within the frames of the project Empowering CSOs to Promote Inclusive and Green Post Covid Recovery, which is being implemented by CENN with support from the EU.
