Supporting education, particularly through technological advancement, is one of the core shared values of the European Union and CENN. This is why empowering the future generation became a key direction for the “Green Guria” project. Today, the modern educational spaces established in the region help educators maintain a diverse learning process, while enabling students to develop critical thinking skills and discover the professions of the future.
Under the leadership of Jumber Giorgadze, the Chokhatauri Niko Mari Public School N1 acquired an innovative virtual-reality laboratory. This platform combines virtual experiments for physics, natural sciences, biology, chemistry, and mathematics into a single space. The new resource significantly boosts student motivation. Most importantly, the laboratory is open to any other school in the municipality, making educational benefits accessible to all.
At the public school of Gurianthi village in Ozurgeti municipality, a modern STEM laboratory was established through the initiative of Nana Sharadze, focusing on hands-on learning. With the guidance of an invited expert, teachers and student leaders are being trained to develop a new learning curriculum. The newly formed school club, which has employed four local residents, turns the school into a hub for innovation, helping students integrate into a technology-driven future.
Marika Tsintsadze’s project, the “Curie Laboratory,” aims to promote science. Supported by the European Union, scientific workshops and chemistry shows were organized in public schools across all three municipalities of Guria, and students received science boxes packed with laboratory inventory. The acquired equipment will allow the organization to continue its activities independently, keeping science permanently engaging for the region’s youth.
A dedicated “Language Lab” was launched at the Jvartskhma Public School in Chokhatauri municipality through the initiative of Tamta Jankhoteli. The space aims to support rural children in learning English. Alongside the laboratory, an age-appropriate library was established, enhancing literacy among young people.
These initiatives, implemented with the financial support of the European Union and CENN, demonstrate that with the right investment and an innovative vision, Guria is building a modern educational ecosystem that offers equal opportunities for future generations to thrive.
