Within the framework of the USAID Economic Security Program-supported project “Empowering Public for Circular Solutions in Georgia”, CENN invites Georgian media journalists, producers, media specialists and media researchers to participate in a research competition on plastic pollution. The competition includes preparing analytical journalistic papers on the sustainable management of plastic waste and the circular economy.
“Media contest is open to professionals working in the media in Georgia who desire to enhance their professional knowledge in environmental issues, with a particular focus on plastic waste. Participants can work on such media products as articles, video blogs, television reports, radio reports, podcasts, and multimedia content. To participate in the competition, for journalists to receive a grant in the contest, they must publish media products on the relevant active media platforms.
Media competition consists of several phases: (1) Thematic training and study visit (November 21, 2023, Tbilisi), (2) after training and educational visit, presentation of the planned research concept, (3) selection of four winning research concept and signing a research agreement. Participation in the training is mandatory.
An independent jury will select four winning concepts. A contract will be signed with each winner for conducting research for 1,450 GEL (including income tax and pension contribution).
Media professionals from all over Georgia can participate in the competition. The number of places is limited; journalists will be selected based on experience, motivation and relevance of the proposed platform. The project will cover all costs of the competition.
