Develop the institutional and technical capacities of the National Forest Agency (NFA) to enable the implementation of the Forest Code and NDCs;
Engage the private sector and farmers in the development of a forest product market and introduction of sustainable energy solutions ;
Empower women and girls from rural areas to increase their participation in the forest-related economic directions;
Promote green education and advocacy for behavioural change countrywide.
Activity Results
Local income opportunities are created, and anthropogenic pressure on forests is reduced by rural economy diversification through sustainable multi-functional forest use, fostering decentralisation and empowering women, youth and vulnerable groups.
Environmental protection and natural resources management
State institutions at central and local levels have and use effective tools and mechanisms for intersectoral cooperation, participatory decision making and green budgeting to implement rural development activities (focusing on sustainable use of forest resources) by 2027.
The NFA’s institutional and technical capacities are strengthened and enabled for the implementation of the Forest Code and NDCs.
Enabling a business environment for an inclusive economy
The expansion of sustainable forest product markets is achieved through the creation of incentives for the commercial utilisation of forest resources and the enhanced capacity of both the private sector and farmers.
Women Empowerment and Gender Equality
Women and girls, particularly those from rural areas, are enabled to diversify their income using forest resources.
Strengthening educational systems
Youth, vulnerable groups and civic society have increased capacity to actively engage in environmental advocacy, social activism, Independent Forest Monitoring and Confidence-Building Measures.
