CENN within the project “Achieving Land Degradation Neutrality Targets of Georgia through Restoration and Sustainable Management of Degraded Pasturelands” organized a cycle of trainings on “Investment access for farmers”. The trainings were conducted for farmers, agricultural cooperatives and RDA Information consultation services in Kazbegi, Dmanisi and Gurjaani municipalities, on September 28-29, October 8-9 and November 12-13, 2020, respectively. The trainings aimed at development of business skills of stakeholders.
The following topics have been discussed during the trainings: calculation of cost, incomes, gross margins, planning of investments and its economic evaluation etc.
The cycle of trainings were attended around 60 participants.
The project plans to conduct another series of trainings in the target municipalities aimed at promoting the introduction of sustainable pasture management practices in the municipalities and in general at capacity development on the local level. The Project “Achieving Land Degradation Neutrality Targets of Georgia through Restoration and Sustainable Management of Degraded Pasturelands” is initiated by Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and is financed by Global Environment Facility (GEF). Project is implemented by Food and Agriculture Organization. An executive organization is the Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus). Project partner – Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN).
