These guidelines on green transition include informational and educational materials designed for young people, students, teachers, and anyone interested in Waste Management and Circular Economy, responsible waste management and sustainable consumption.
Readers will learn about waste types and classification: non‑hazardous, hazardous, and inert waste – their characteristics, and environmental impacts. The publication explains how waste pollution affects human health and the economy.
Special attention is devoted to the waste management chain- collection, transportation, sorting, processing, and disposal, the role and significance of each stage. Readers will learn about the concept of the circular economy as an alternative to the linear economy (“take‑make‑use‑dispose”). The publication describes the three core principles of circular thinking: preventing waste from the design stage, keeping products and materials in circulation, and regenerating natural systems.
