Under the European Union-supported project “Green Guria,” the third meeting of the Stakeholders’ Steering Committee was held. The main objective of the meeting was to analyze the activities of the past year and facilitate the exchange of information and recommendations.
The event was opened with welcoming remarks by:
Ketevan Khutsishvili – Programme Manager at the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia;
Laurent George Etienne Nicole – Executive Director of CENN.
The working session was dedicated to reviewing the activities implemented and results achieved within the framework of the Green Guria project. Furthermore, representatives from UNDP, the Anti-Violence Network of Georgia (AVNG), and the Center for Innovations and Reforms (CIR) discussed ongoing rural development initiatives and community-based local support programs under ENPARD IV.
A panel discussion – “The Role of the European Union in the Development of Georgia’s Regions” was held as part of the meeting. Guests had the opportunity to personally meet EU-supported entrepreneurs from the Ozurgeti, Chokhatauri, Lanchkhuti, and Oni municipalities.
About the Project:
The project “Green Guria – Supporting Local Democracy and Rural Development for Inclusive and Sustainable Green Growth” is implemented by CENN in cooperation with partner organizations: the Young Pedagogues’ Union, the Institute of Democracy, and the Keda Local Action Group (LAG).
The initiative is carried out within the framework of the European Neighborhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD IV), supported by the European Union. The project aims to reduce poverty and improve the economic and social environment for vulnerable communities through civic engagement, inclusive rural development, and support for green growth.
