February 16-22, 2021. As part of the EU-supported Georgia Climate Program, implemented by CENN in partnership with partner organizations, the project team briefed representatives of Guria, Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kakheti regions and local authorities on the project objectives and planned activities in an online format.
The main purpose of the meetings was to inform the regional and local authorities about the ongoing EU-supported project, to allocate contact persons and to discuss opportunities for future cooperation.
During the meeting, the project team introduced the project activities to the participants, highlighting the potential synergies and opportunities for collaboration between the project and the government. Representatives of CENN and local government shared information about ongoing initiatives and activities. During the meeting, the need for effective and close cooperation between the local government and the project was emphasized.
At the end of the meetings, local government representatives from all four regions expressed their readiness to be actively involved in the project and to join the thematic platforms planned under the project.
CENN, within the framework of the EU supported GEO-CAP, will continue to actively cooperate with the representatives of the private, public, and civil society sectors and will contribute to the development of successful close cooperation practices between the sectors and institutions.
The European Union supported Georgia Climate Action Program (GEO-CAP) is implemented by CENN together with the Kakheti Regional Development Fund (KRDF), the Chiatura Union (ACU), the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Agrotourism Development Association (RLS-ADA), and the Young Pedagogue’s Union (YPU). The target municipalities of the project are Gurjaani, Sagarejo, Akhmeta, Zestaponi, Tkibuli, Chiatura, Lanchkhuti, Ozurgeti, Oni, and Ambrolauri.
