A mandatory quarantine has been enforced in Bolnisi and Marneuli municipalities for three days already in the Kvemo Kartli region. Most of the population in the “red zone” does not have access to protective measures and information concerning the virus.
CENN, with the support of the European Union and the New World Program, is launching an active informational campaign with the Kvemo Kartli Women’s Association and Red Cross representatives in Bolnisi to inform and protect local people.
CENN is translating, disseminating and improving access to information concerning protective measures to take against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Armenian and Azeri communities of the aforementioned municipalities.
At such times, access to clean water, proper hygienic practices and frequent hand washing are particularly important. The best way to defend yourself is to maintain social distance and stay at home.
In addition, unfortunately, hate speech against ethnic minorities has increased on social media, which weakens social solidarity and makes it harder to deal with the crisis. We condemn any hate speech and urge you to support ethnic, religious and other social minorities.
CENN is ready to provide every citizen with appropriate assistance in the fight against coronavirus.
