National Democratic Institute (NDI) joins the “Beat Plastic Pollution” competition” and they tell us about the importance of multi-sectoral engagement in forming a sustainable world.
“NDI’s goal within the competition is to create a work environment for employees that is less conducive to unintended environmental impact. Although the decisions to reduce environmental pollution should be individuals’ choice, organizations must provide sustainable alternatives. Taking care of the environment, including reducing plastic pollution, is one of our most crucial values.
Private, public, and civil society organizations have strong organizational ties, awareness, authority, and financial and logistical abilities to take responsibility for environmental protection. They should serve as examples of best practices to other institutions and individuals who are not yet part of the action. We should remember that the right decisions made today are the guarantee of tomorrow’s success!” – Ketevan Pitskhelauri, financial & administrative assistant.
The competition is organised with financial support from the German government within the Reducing Single-use Plastic Consumption project, which is implemented by CENN with support from GIZ, Prevent Waste Alliance, RARE and in partnership with ProCredit Bank. The media partner of the project is BMG.
