Georgian Farmers’ Association (GFA) has joined the “Beat Plastic Pollution” competition and is committed to reducing the usage of single-use plastics in its offices as much as possible.
“Georgian Farmers’ Association constantly strives to work according to the principles of sustainable development. We believe that this effort should start with each of our employees and extend to the working environment, making caring for the sustainable development of the environment a part of every working day.
While we have already taken several steps to raise awareness, reduce waste, separate, and recycle in the association’s offices, this competition provides a significant opportunity to intensify our efforts and address the problem of waste in a systematic manner. Our primary focus is preventing waste through procedural changes, limiting the purchase and use of single-use plastics as much as possible, and accurately managing and avoiding their disposal in landfills when reduction is not feasible.” – Ilia Kunchulia, Projects Manager
The competition is organised with financial support from the German government within the Reducing Single-use Plastic Consumption project, which is implemented by CENN with support from GIZ, Prevent Waste Alliance, RARE and in partnership with ProCredit Bank. The media partner of the project is BMG.
