Throughout the 5-month competition phase, participants work on reducing the use of single-use plastic by addressing behaviour change and developing environmentally-friendly strategies and procurement practices.
Plastic Waste Prevention project aims to (1) encourage companies and organisations to avoid or reduce procurement and consumption of single-use plastic (SUP) items, replace them with more sustainable and durable products. Single-use plastics include products like plastic bags, PET bottles, plastic disposable cutlery etc; to promote companies and organisations who are championing green solutions and engaging private and civil and public sectors in initiating green solutions; and to raise awareness of the public.
