FAO and CENN, with the financial support of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), continue training sessions for farmers.
Up to 40 participants from Gurjaani, Dmanisi, and Kazbegi municipalities were trained on milk hygiene and safety topics. The training included the following: milk production and processing conditions, milk hygiene, correct milking practices, basic principles of food safety, milk safety, and related Georgian legislation.
The farmers’ training sessions were implemented within the “Achieving Land Degradation Neutrality Targets of Georgia through Restoration and Sustainable Management of Degraded Pasturelands” project, which is being initiated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) implement the project. The Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus) is an executive organization and CENN is the project partner.
