CENN, with the financial support of the Austrian Development Cooperation, hosted the final event of the youth environmental competition – the Niko Ketskhoveli School Award.
At the final event, representatives of eco-clubs from 27 schools across Georgia presented to the jury and invited guests the important environmental and social initiatives they had implemented in their cities and villages throughout the year.
At the final event, the winners of the competition were announced:
- 1st Place – Tskaltubo Theological Gymnasium named after St. Bishop Gabriel
- 2nd Place – Gori Public School No.9
- 3rd Place – Public School of Kitskhi Village, Kharagauli Municipality
The winning schools will receive monetary awards to improve their school environments:
- 1st Place – 5,000 GEL
- 2nd Place – 4,000 GEL
- 3rd Place – 3,000 GEL
FAO, a partner organization of the Niko Ketskhoveli Award, also announced the winners of its sub-contest “Fish Farming – A New Direction in Agriculture”:
- 1st Place – Public School of Kitskhi Village, Kharagauli Municipality
- 2nd Place – Public School of Tsvirmi Village, Mestia Municipality
Furthermore, TBC Bank, another competition partner, recognized Public School of Shamgona Village, Zugdidi Municipality and awarded it 3,000 GEL to support the implementation of environmental projects.
