CENN has prepared and presented Spotlight Reports on the country’s progress and challenges in direction of reaching SDG 6 (Clean water and sanitation) and SDG 7 (Affordable and clean energy).
The organisation expert Vakhtang Kochoradze has presented the study results on the Civil Society side event of the UNECE Regional Forum on Sustainable development 2023 in a hybrid format. The reports include analyses of Georgia’s progress and challenges on SDG 6 and 7 as well as suggestions and recommendations for further steps to reach enhanced progress in the fields of clean and affordable energy and improved water resources management in the country.
The reports will be shared publicly on the CENN’s networks soon and will be used to further advocate the issues.
The publications were produced as part of the SDG LENS program. Monitoring Sustainable Development in Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office, Civil Society Cooperation and Dekabristen E.V.
UNECE Regional Forum on Sustainable Development takes place on March 29-30 in Geneva and online. The theme for this year’s Forum is: “Ensuring the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the ECE Region in times of multiple crises”.
The focus will be on monitoring progress as well as identifying areas for transformative action in order to achieve the SDGs. Outcomes of the Forum will again contribute to the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in July, but this year also the SDG Summit in September, which marks the mid-point of implementing the 2030 Agenda.
