CENN, with support from the United Nations Development Programme and in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, is announcing the End Plastic Pollution in Georgia Challenge for businesses and organisations.
The campaign aims to:
1. Encourage companies and organisations to avoid or reduce procurement and consumption of single-use plastic (SUP) items, replace them with with more sustainable and durable products and establish circular practices.
2. Promote companies and organisations who are championing sustainable solutions;
Companies and non-state organizations are welcome to participate in the competition, including companies from the HoReca sector.
– I Phase: Registration of companies and organizations – companies and organizations interested in participating, must register by February 26, 2024 and submit information on which types of single-use plastic products they intend to reduce, through which measures and by what percentage;
– II Phase: Companies and organisations will have an opportunity to attend a training on waste audit, green procurement and behaviour change design – April 2024
– III Phase: Implementation of the pledges – May 2024 – September 2024. During the implementation phase the participants will have an opportunity to attend consultation meetings.
– IV Phase: Submission of reports about implemented activities – October 1, 2024
– V Phase: Assessment of the reports by the jury members – October 2024
– VI Phase: Awarding the businesses certificates – November 2024
The participants will receive extensive media coverage as well as promotion on CENN’s social networks.
