Training sessions for Marneuli Municipality Farmers continues within CENN’s project “Climate Resilient Agriculture – PRAISE MARNEULI”.
On March 24-25, 2022, training sessions on “Climate Change and Sustainable Management of Land Resources” were conducted at the Bulachauri Green Center. The following areas were covered during the sessions: (1) Marneuli Municipality soil cover review, (2) Impact of climate change on agriculture and land degradation, (3) Adaptation measures to protect land resources in agriculture, and (4) Climate change mitigation measures in agriculture. The sessions were interactive, attended by 15 farmers.
The project will support local farmers to develop their skills in agriculture and climate change, gain more knowledge and promote sharing this knowledge with farmers in other regions of Georgia.
The “PRAISE MARNEULI” project is implemented by CENN with the support of HEKS-EPER. The overall objective of the project is to support income generation opportunities of vulnerable populations in Marneuli Municipality through the development and promotion of environmentally friendly and climate-resilient agricultural (CRA) practices. The action aims to empower smallholders, entrepreneurs, women, youth, and other local actors by introducing climate-resilient agriculture best practices in correlation with the Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA). Within the project, local farmers will have the opportunity to improve their skills, gain knowledge and share this knowledge with other farmers through field trips to regions of Georgia.
