CENN, with the financial support of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), continues training sessions for farmers.
Up to 45 participants from Gurjaani, Dmanisi, and Kazbegi municipalities were trained on the topics of intensification of beef cattle farming systems. The training included the following topics: beef cattle breeds, beef cattle nutrition and feeding specifics, and pastureland condition assessment, and management. The participants included staff from the Information-Consulting Centers of the Rural Development Agency (RDA) as well as local farmers.
The sessions were conducted at the base of Dmanisi Cattle Breading LLC French farm.
The farmers’ field training sessions were implemented within the “Achieving Land Degradation Neutrality Targets of Georgia through Restoration and Sustainable Management of Degraded Pasturelands” project, which is being initiated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) implement the project. The Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus) is an executive organization and CENN is the project partner.
