A 5-day exchange tour for Georgian youth, organized by CENN and GrlzWave and hosted by ActionAid Denmark, on February 5-9, within the framework of the New Democracy Fund-funded “Seeds of change: Intersectional Green Feminism and Youth Activism in Georgia” project, was held in Copenhagen, Denmark. 6 young people who work in feminism, environmental and educational fields in Georgia participated in the exchange tour.
The purpose of the tour was to familiarize Georgian youth and representatives of the partner organization with the practice of civil activism, local CSOs and green and feminist issues in Denmark. ActionAid Denmark, whose activities reach around 25 million people in 45 countries, offered the tour participants a program that included getting to know ActionAid Denmark staff and their activities, local NGOs, CSOs, activists and sharing their practices. Participants were given sessions on communication campaign planning and advocacy. At the end of the visit, a meeting was held in the Danish Parliament with the head of campaign planning and politician Rasmus Nordqvist, who works in the direction of green policy in the Danish Parliament and is a committee member of European Green Party.
The study tour was a good opportunity for Georgian youth to learn about Denmark’s experience in the direction of green and feminist activism. Also, establish connections with Danish non-governmental organizations, civil society and activists, which will facilitate the exchange of ideas and implementation of joint initiatives in the future.
The exchange tour was held within the framework of the “Seeds of change: Intersectional Green Feminism and Youth Activism in Georgia” project, funded by the New Democracy Fund. The project is implemented by MELLEMFOLKELIGT SAMVIRKE ActionAid in cooperation with CENN and GrlzWave.
