We would like to remind you that local action groups (LAG) are being formed in all three municipalities of Guria region. LAG is an active citizens’ association composed of representatives of the municipality, private, public and civil sectors. The local action group will be involved in the determination of rural development priorities, in the development of the local development strategy of the municipality, in the implementation and monitoring of grant projects corresponding to the strategy.
In July 2023, members of the governing board of Local Action Groups (LAG) in Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri were fully elected through elections. As for the members of the governing board of Lanchkhuti LAG, 10 candidates have been selected, and the remaining 4 members will be selected in the planned re-elections after the received applications
The local action group of Lanchkhuti is created within the framework of the European Union-supported project – Green Guria – Supporting Local Democracy and Rural Development for Inclusive and Resilient Green Growth – implemented by CENN, with partner organizations – Young Pedagogues’ Union, Institute of Democracy and Keda Local Action Group – LAG.
