CENN, in the frame of the ongoing “Climate-Resilient Agriculture – PRAISE Marneuli” project, funded by the Swiss organisation HEKS/EPER, hosted a thematic camp on environmental protection and climate-resilient agriculture for youth.
As a result of participating in the camp, 15 young people from Marneuli municipality have strengthened their knowledge of food systems, rural development and agriculture, climate change mitigation and adaptation, food loss and waste, and waste management. Furthermore, participants visited the modern apple orchard and got acquainted with an apple’s journey from farm to table. In addition, young people met successful entrepreneurs operating across the various stages of food systems (primary production, processing, distribution, and consulting service).
Participants discussed challenges and problems in Marneuli municipality regarding the thematic issues of the camp and also worked on possible solutions.
The youth camp was conducted within the “Climate Resilient Agriculture – PRAISE Marneuli” project, which is implemented by CENN with the financial support of the Swiss organization HEKS/EPER. The project’s overall objective is to support income generation opportunities for vulnerable populations in Marneuli municipality by developing and promoting environmentally friendly and climate-resilient agricultural (CRA) practices.
