CENN, with support from the EU, hosted a study tour about social services in the Czech Republic. Participants included local civil society organisations and local government representatives working in Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti.
During the 6 day visit, the participants had the opportunity to visit and get to know various social service provision practices in different cities, which also included:
- House for mothers and children in need St Margaret’s Home;
- Asylum house for homeless people;
- Daycare centre for the elderly and disabled – SLAVKOV U BRNA;
- Contact centre which provides services to users of illegal drugs and alcohol, persons at risk of addiction to addictive substances and pathological gambling and their relatives;
- Low Threshold Club Pohoda Hodonín which provides facilities, support and assistance to children and young people in difficult life situations;
- RUBIKON Centrum, which helps people overcome their criminal history;
- Holy Family Home, which provides care for people with mental and combined disabilities
Participants also met with representatives of local and central government agencies and discussed their approach to social service planning and citizen engagement.
The study visit was carried out within the framework of the project Empowering Civil Society for Inclusive and Green Post-Covid Recovery”, which is implemented by CENN together with partner organizations with the financial support of the European Union. The local partner of the study visit was Caritas of the Czech Republic.
