Education and Youth

Education is central to the development and improvement of the lives of young people in the Caucasus region and globally. Education is of critical importance in eradicating poverty and inequalities and in promoting sustainable and inclusive growth of societies.

CENN has mainstreamed youth inclusive formal and non-formal education in its various programs and projects in the region. We recognize the importance of the role of educated youth in shaping of the environmentally concious and responsible society as they lead positive changes in their communities. CENN offers numerous opportunities for adolescents and youth for self-expression and growth as well as leadership towards sustainable development. Moreover, CENN acknowledges the role of educated youth especially in the acceleration of green and digital transition of societies. To achieve this, we partner with central and local government representatives, educational institutions, namely, schools, universities, VET centres, policy and decision makers.

With the support of CENN’s past and ongoing engagements, 500+ school eco-clubs were established in the region, diverse university curricula were introduced in Armenia and Georgia as well as hundreds of young people were empowered via non-formal education – Green Camps, environmental and youth campaigns and activism. With formal and non-formal education endeavors we also contribute to youth further transition to the job market.
