Within the framework of the EU-funded “Green Guria – Supporting Local Democracy and Rural Development for Inclusive and Resilient Green Growth” project, CENN, together with partner organisations: the Young Pedagogues’ Union, the Institute of Democracy, and the Local Action Group of KEDA (LAG), is launching Local Action Groups (LAGs) in Ozurgeti, Chokhatauri and Lanchkhuti municipalities to receive applications for membership.
A Local Action Group (LAG) is the main instrument of rural development in the European (LEADER) approach. The LAG is an active citizens’ union composed of representatives of the municipality, private, public and civil sectors, which is involved in determining the priorities of rural development, developing the local development strategy of the municipality, and implementing and monitoring grant projects corresponding with the strategy.
Within the framework of the project, it is planned to create a Local Action Group (LAG) in all three municipalities of the Guria region (Ozurgeti, Chokhatauri and Lanchkhuti). Any adult interested in the development of their municipality can join and participate in the groups. To apply for group membership, please visit the appropriate link:

About the project:
CENN implements the “Green Guria – Supporting Local Democracy and Rural Development for Inclusive and Resilient Green Growth” project in cooperation with partner organisations: the Young Pedagogues’ Union, the Institute of Democracy, and the Local Action Group of KEDA (LAG), supported by the European Union within the European Neighbourhood Program for Rural and Agricultural Development ENPARD IV.
Over three years, the project will operate in the Ozurgeti, Lanchkhuti, and Chokhatauri municipalities. The project will establish Local Action Groups (LAGs) in these municipalities and develop local development strategies that prioritise the needs of gender, youth, and vulnerable groups. The project will also promote sustainable practices and diversification of the local economy and empower women, youth, and civic organisations and communities.
