Norwegian Embassy in Georgia is joining the Beat Plastic Pollution Competition and strives to eliminate single-use plastic usage.
“Plastic pollution is a serious global issue that requires urgent and international attention. Since the first UN Environment Assembly in 2014, Norway has actively promoted a strong global commitment to dealing with this issue.
Economic growth must go hand in hand with environmental sustainability. While plastics offer many benefits, they pose a significant problem when they end up in our environment and oceans. At the Embassy, we strive to use plastics more wisely by establishing a recycling system, eliminating single-use plastics, raising awareness, and encouraging others to do the same.”- Rebecca Lie, Deputy Head of Mission
The competition is organised with financial support from the German government within the Reducing Single-use Plastic Consumption project, which is implemented by CENN with support from GIZ, Prevent Waste Alliance, RARE and in partnership with ProCredit Bank. The media partner of the project is BMG. It unites 11 companies and organizations with the aim to reduce the single-use plastic.
