Circular economy and resource efficiency

Existing production and consumption patterns in the Caucasus region are mostly based on a linear economy. The development of a sustainable, low carbon, resource-efficient and competitive economy requires a transition to a circular economy, where the value of products, materials and resources is maintained in the economy for as long as possible, and the generation of waste is minimized.

CENN is developing solutions for the transition to a circular economy in the region. We promote resource-efficient models by supporting decision-makers to develop policy frameworks and introduce modern approaches. We build the capacity of the private sector to apply resource-efficient practices, support waste aggregating and recycling companies to improve their business operations and create opportunities for citizens to separate waste. CENN also assists educational institutions to integrate the circular economy concept in their programs and raises awareness of various stakeholders about the circular economy and proper waste management practices.
